ESD – coating for the use in electronics production, explosion -proof areas, clean-room technology, medical and lab technology.

Untreated plastic housings offer only little or no protection against EMI (electromagnetic interference) and ESD (electrostatic discharge).

By applying conductive surfaces to substrates with which electrical charging has to be avoided for operating safety reasons (electrostatic discharge, spark formation), a considerable improvement can be achieved.

ESD-coatings are normally high-resistance conductive and thus differ from low-resistance EMI-coating.

These antistatic layers are first of all used with electronic devices (computers with their peripheral devices, medical and technical apparatuses, measuring and control technology etc.), and in the electronics production as well as in explosion-proof areas.

The varnish 70011.ESD developed for this kind of applications forms a conductive surface once it is hardened, which features high chemical and mechanical resistances.

[Surface resistance 1 x 10⁶ Ohm (measured according to DIN 53482/VDE 0303, Part 3, electrode array C, with a dry-layer thickness of 50 µm)].

The resistance values obtained are comparable with the film quality of resistant stove-enamels and our varnish is abrasion-proof, elastic, insensitive to scratches, and resistant against solvents, chemicals, synthetic cooling liquids and hydraulic oils.
